I’ve been lucky enough to design and teach a range of undergraduate Philosophy courses across the City University of New York. Having been persuaded of the efficacy of this strategy by Harry Brighouse and Jen Morton (amongst others) I try to conduct my classes in the light of the idea that students develop their philosophical skills best by doing philosophy themselves, rather than by reading or observing other people doing philosophy. As a result, I make maximal use of structured exercises, assignments, and discussion activities. I keep a lot of my teaching materials online on course websites, which I’ve listed below. If you want to discuss any of the material or develop it for use in your own classes, just drop me an email.
